Leggings: Yes, No, Let that b!%&# go

"Leggings go with everything . They're like a good friend. They fit perfectly and compliment you in every way"

This has got to be one of the biggest fashion lies in my life. If leggings are like a good friend then some of you need to let that bitch go! Leggings are neither for every occasion nor for every body type. Like any article of clothing or piece of make up in the fashion world, there are rules to leggings. And I feel to start this Fashion blog off right , I'll divulge the myths about leggings and four basic rules or ways to wear leggings.

Leggings Do's and Don'ts

When it comes to leggings, like other fashion trends, there are highlights and perks to wearing them. But this is when the rules are followed. Rule number one of leggings: Never wear them with a short shirt like they are pants. The exception to this rule are the leather/faux leather leggings. This are a edgy chic fashion trend that I LOVE. They have the look of leather pants without the constriction. These can be paired with heels , a fresh pair of sneakers or boots. I suggest to wear them with a shirt that has a longer hem. As such exampled.

1. Wear leggings with a long shirt. Preferably mid-thigh or lower. Always make sure the top covers your butt. Leggings never makes a butt look better. So it is better to cover up your back side as to avoid the mystery of whether your the exception or not. High low shirts or over-sized shirts are perfect for a leggings when chose correctly.

2. Never wear thin material or sheer leggings. Hips or no hips , butt or no butt, nothing is cute about showing which color underwear you have on to the world. I mean really, whats cute or sexy about this?

3. Choose your print and color wisely. This is definitely a must. When it comes to leggings , the color and print is the essential key to choosing whether to wear them or not. If you are plus sized, stay away from horizontal stripe prints, bright colored or color blocked leggings. These make your bottom half look larger than smaller. A darker tone legging or neutrals and vertical stripes can pass with many plus sized outfits. And when it comes to in general, never choose a stupid or horrific print. Some things just weren't meant to be worn on a pant.

And finally...

4. If it gives you a camel toe... Let.It.Go. Burn it, bury it and salt the ground where you do. I cannot stress enough how the main issue with legging don'ts is the crotch region. No one wants to see your camel toe in jeans or pants. Leggings just develops it more. If you seriously think a camel toe is an accessory to any outfit, you need more fashion help than I may be able to provide. And i wont provide a visual because I value my readers too much than to burn there eyes with that drab image.

Many may ask , well what about jeggings. All I have to say is when it comes to jeggings.. well that's a whole different story that I hope dies very soon. Take it from me either wear jeans or leggings. Not a mix of the two... Follow four rules and you can pull off any legging look:
